Welcome to Holiday Sommersel Resort

The Holiday Sommersel Resort is located directly on the sea in the Northwest of the municipality Hamaroy in Nordland in a sheltered bay facing the Lofoten. Being north of the artic circle at a latitude of 68°10’N the gulf stream ensures a surprisingly mild climate as the Lofoten islands shield from the colder artic winds. Experience the mid night sun in summer or later in the year the magical polar lights.

The famous Norwegian writer Knut Hamsun describes the infinite beauty of Nordland in his work. Come and enjoy discovering the unspoiled nature:

Encounter elk, reindeer, white-tailed eagle (a close relative of the bald eagle) and artic hares         right on the grounds of the resort.
Observe unique and manifold bird life against the backdrop of the stunning Lofoten mountains.
Find amazing fishing grounds right at your door-step luring anglers and fishermen for its marine    diversity and sheer size of fish.
Whale watching (from October to February) directly from our beach as Orcas follow the large shoals of herring into the bay.
