Knut Hamsun


Knut Hamsun


Knut Hamsun,  (geb. 1859 in Lom) famous Norwegian writer and poet, (Nobelprize-Winner 1920) lures many visitors to Hamaroy, known as „Hamsuns Rike“. In Hamsund you can find his birth place. 
2009, on the occasion of the 150th-annniversary celebration of Hamsun the new Museum in Oppeid was officially opened (architect Steven Hall, New York).
